As-Safar started as a local voluntary organisation that was set up by several individuals who wanted to assist the local community in the very area they resided in.

These were small based projects ranging from soup kitchens for the homeless to helping the elderly, from organising local community events to helping engage and empower local youths to better themselves through targeted initiatives.

Through our work with the community we identified our first long term project. The Hajj Project.

We aimed to send those less fortunate to perform the hajj pilgrimage within the community we served. This was something that is often overlooked unintentionally and not realising that sometimes there is a real need on your very own doorstep.

​

This ongoing project has been a tremendous success and continues to be a cornerstone of our work in the community.

​

We have progressively and successfully expanded our work to support many different projects and initiatives, some of which you can read more about under our projects section on the website.

Importantly, we pride ourselves in making every penny and donation count, where we are able to give maximum value to your donations and really impact the people we aim to serve.

This has seen our charity adopt a unique approach by establishing mutual partnerships with other charities in aiming to deliver on projects and initiates.

​

We are a British Muslim charity undertaking work wherever there is need, however the work is not exclusively in Muslim communities and countries.

​

We are also currently in conversations with several UK based charities in establishing joint initiatives in helping deliver much needed services and support, right here on our doorstep.

We are proud that our work has no boundaries in who we help and we continue to work with identified partners and organisations wherever there is a need.
